The Department of Social Services (DSS) has launched a Virtual Assistant to answer basic questions and immediately connect Missourians to needed information anytime day or night. The Virtual Assistant answers general questions online regarding the Food Stamp/Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Medicaid, Child Care Subsidy, and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families benefits, as well as Child Support.

Due to the clandestine nature of human trafficking it difficult to know the exact number of individuals being trafficked. Healing Action and the Coalition Against Trafficking and Exploitation hope recent events in Florida will help people begin to realize the pervasiveness of this crime.

Raising awareness and giving individuals a fresh start is the goal of the organization. Providing basic needs, housing and a support system for victims is must in order to help them work through their trauma. Unfortunately, as much as Healing Action tries, they can not save everyone.
