The goal of the Statewide Adult Service Workgroup is to build a long-lasting coordinated response to support adult human trafficking survivors with a trauma-informed and survivor-centered approach. The purpose of this group is to identify specific and actionable goals for 2023 and 2024.

The ongoing structure of this meeting will consist of an open session of training or a guest speaker to talk about relevant topics related to the workgroup. The next hour will be reserved for community discussion.

The goal of the Statewide LGBTQIA+ Workgroup is to build a long-lasting, coordinated response to support LGBTQIA+ human trafficking survivors.

The meeting will begin with a training or guest speaker relevant to the pressing issues identified by the workgroup. Previous training focused on specific methods of advocating for LGBTQIA+ survivors. The meeting will then continue on for a community round-table to discuss barriers, challenges, and possible solutions to serving LGBTQIA+ survivors.

The purpose of this group is to identify specific and actionable goals for 2023 and continue the work plan to work towards a solution for the identified need.

During these meetings, the first hour will be a trainer or guest speaker that will provide information to assist with some of the challenges you might be facing as a professional. The next hour will be a continuance of the previous meeting to continue working towards solutions to current challenges your field might be facing while serving human trafficking survivors. Join the Missouri Coalition Against Trafficking and Exploitation (MOCATE) to learn about the basics of trafficking and exploitation in MO.

CATE* is a statewide collaborative effort of agencies and individuals building a community movement to prevent and respond to human trafficking and exploitation through advocacy, public policy, education, and direct outreach strategies. 

Human Trafficking & Exploitation: The Basics 

Welcome to our online event where we’ll provide an introductory dive into the issue of human trafficking and exploitation across Missouri. Join us for an eye-opening session to gain solid basic knowledge of various forms of human trafficking, the methods used by traffickers, and the impact on victims and society. 

This online training includes an interactive presentation followed by a Q&A session that is perfect for anyone in the community that is just learning about this important issue. 

By the end of the session, participants will have: 

  • an increased awareness and understanding of human trafficking and exploitation 
  • Practical strategies for prevention, identification, and ways to get involved.
